Roller Garage Doors

Roller garage doors are available in two main types, differing significantly in performance and security.

55mm Compact Roller Doors

Compact roller doors typically use 55mm slats and offer minimal insulation and limited security. Where insulation and security are not priorities, we would generally recommend an up and over garage door as a more robust, secure and longer lasting alternative.

77mm Insulated Roller Doors

Our 77mm roller garage doors are manufactured from twin skinned aluminium laths, each filled with a 19mm polyurethane foam core. This construction provides a good balance of strength, security, and thermal performance, making it the most practical and widely specified roller door option.

The individual laths interlock as the curtain closes, forming a solid and uniform door face with a clean, modern appearance. The aluminium construction offers corrosion resistance and long-term durability, making the door suitable for both domestic and light commercial applications.

These doors are electrically operated as standard, with the curtain rolling into a compact head box positioned above the opening. The box typically measures between 250mm and 300mm square, allowing the garage ceiling and side walls to remain clear. This makes insulated roller doors particularly suitable where space is restricted or where maximum internal clearance is required.

A wide range of finishes is available, including 16 standard colours and 28 laminated finishes. Laminated options include realistic woodgrain effects designed to complement existing windows, doors, and external features.

The combination of insulated laths, secure guide rails, and interlocking curtain provides improved security when compared to compact roller doors, while also offering meaningful insulation benefits for garages that are attached to the property or used regularly.
